Hazelight Studios has announced that It Takes Two sold over 20 million copies since its release in 2021, and the developer has teased the title of its next game.

Over on Twitter, director Josef Fares said, “Getting a lot of questions about the next game. Here is a tease. It is a BRAND NEW IP called S**** ******N. Can’t wait to show it soon.” Hazelight Studios followed up with a picture of a folder with the words “NEW IP” circled in yellow along with a mystery release date. The new game is also confirmed to be published by Electronics Arts again under the EA Originals banner.

It’s currently unknown when Hazelight Studios will reveal the new game. A likely candidate would be at the Game Awards 2024 as It Takes Two won Game of the Year during The Game Awards 2021.

Back in February 2023, Hazelight Studios revealed that It Takes Two sold over 10 million copies. In November 2022, Fares claimed that the studio’s next game will surprise players and blow them away.

In GameSpot’s It Takes Two review, we said, “Despite the downright wild amount of things to do, It Takes Two manages to handle every mechanic well. This is the second release from Hazelight, and while A Way Out had plenty of fans, it seems that it may just take two to make a thing go quite this right.”
