Atari 50 Expanded Edition Preorders – Get Over 140 Games, Steelbook Case, Collectibles, And More

The Atari 50: Anniversary Celebration released in 2022, offering an easy way to access over 100 games from the iconic developer. Atari is now preparing to launch Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition, which includes a bunch more games, new in-game content. and a nice assortment of physical collectibles. It releases on October 25, and preorders are live now for two different editions, including a limited-edition steelbook release that’s only available for Nintendo Switch.

A physical standard edition that costs $40 will launch for PS5 and Switch. The most compelling option, however, is the steelbook edition that’s exclusive to Switch. It costs $50 and includes tons of collectibles–such as Atari 2600 art cards, miniature arcade marquee signs, an AI Alcorn Replica Syzygy Co business card, and a stylish steelbook to hold your game.

Regardless of which version you opt for, you’ll gain access to two new in-game timelines that offer 39 additional games. The first timeline is The Wider World of Atari, which adds 19 titles and features interviews, vintage ads, historical artifacts, and other details about titles such as Berzerk, Pong, and Breakout.

The second timeline, The First Console War, features 20 new playable games along with six video segments. This timeline looks at the battle between Atari 2600 and Mattel’s Intellivision. Included in this timeline are a handful of M Network sports games and interviews from former Intellivision game director, Don Daglow.

All told, you’ll get access to over 140 classic games with the Atari 50: Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition. If you own the original Atari 50: Anniversary Celebration, the new timelines will eventually be offered as DLC later this year.
