Sloclap revealed that Sifu will receive its final content update on September 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The update will come to the Nintendo Switch version later.
Most of the new content involves Sifu’s Arenas mode, as the update adds six new dynamic Arenas and 75 new challenges to the game. There will also be more modifiers and cheats for players to crank up the challenge. While the trailer didn’t provide any details, the update will have film-inspired outfits that players can equip. Some new enemies also include doppelgangers and zombie-like adversaries.
Sifu first came to PlayStation and PC via the Epic Game Store back in 2022. It then came to Nintendo Switch later that year, followed by Xbox and Steam earlier this year. Previous updates included additional difficulty options, gameplay modifiers, and the initial Arenas expansion. The game is also receiving a live-action adaptation from John Wick’s Derek Kolstad.
In GameSpot’s Sifu review, we said, “For as unique and interesting as its aging mechanic is, it wouldn’t work without the combat carrying the load and ensuring that each replay is just as engaging as the last. Is one life enough to know kung fu? Maybe not. But I would happily spend mine playing Sifu to find out.”
