Season 6 is live in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, and in addition to all the spooky Halloween-themed content, the update also includes three new weapon attachments: the XTEN Binate Suppressor, Caster-X1 Compensator, and the Bracefire-HC Grip. In order to use these, you’ll first need to unlock them. Here we’ll explain the benefits of using these attachments and how to unlock them.
Season 6 adds a new suppressed muzzle option, that gives you a visible laser while aiming down-sight, but it will increase the weapon’s aim-down-sight speed by 9% and make you undetectable on the radar when firing the gun.
To unlock this new attachment you’ll need to activate its Armory Unlock and complete two daily challenges. Unlike equipment and attachments from past seasons, this new attachment is not shown in your in-game armory or advertised anywhere for you to see. The steps below will help you find and active it:
It’s uncertain if this attachment will only be available to equip on light machine guns and battle rifles, but it’s currently only showing in the Gunsmith when viewing these specific gun classes.
The season adds another muzzle option called the Caster-X1 Compensator, which works to cut down on a weapon’s recoil. While it only slightly helps reduce the vertical recoil by 5%, this muzzle makes a significant reduction to horizontal recoil with a 34% decrease. This attachment could be great to use for better control on weapons like light machine guns and battle rifles with an upwards kick.
There are no hidden unlock challenges for this attachment, and instead this is unlocked only by leveling Season 6’s new DTIR 30-06 battle rifle to level 8. This weapon is unlocked in Sector 6 as a free-tier in the battle pass.
The Bracefire-HC Grip is a new underbarrel attachment described as a side-angled foregrip designed to improve recoil control, stability, and weapon handling. The in-game stats for this weapon don’t reveal any cons, which are usually added to an attachment to provide a tradeoff. Instead, this underbarrel features impressive stats for improving mobility and helping with accuracy.
This includes a whopping 135% increase to ADS movement speed, a 10% increase to tactical sprint speed, 11% additional sprint speed, 12% crouch movement speed, and 11% gain to movement speed. It also decreases the hipfire spread by 20% and tactical stance spread by 21%.
This is definitely an attachment worth trying on something like a heavy-feeling light machine gun or other weapon that features sluggish movement, and it helps in those hip fire situations as well.
There are no hidden unlock challenges for this attachment, and instead this is unlocked only by leveling Season 6’s new Kastov LSW light machine gun to level 7. This weapon is unlocked in Sector 9 as a free-tier item in the battle pass.
