LG’s 34-inch curved OLED gaming monitor is almost half off

OLED gaming monitors are the real deal … for those who can afford them. Just like their TV counterparts, they typically command a premium price point because they deliver the goods with unbeatable color and lighting accuracy thanks to the display tech’s per-pixel control. As for OLED gaming monitors in particular, the list of perks goes on, from wildly wide viewing angles to industry-leading refresh rates, and more.

I’m not just dangling all of these qualities in front of you for no reason: Best Buy has slashed the cost of LG’s 34-inch curved OLED gaming monitor to $699.99 (was $1,299.99) as part of its latest flash sale.

You may already be aware that there are dozens of OLED gaming monitors to decide from these days, made in different sizes by several major players in PC gaming. However, the majority of them use panels manufactured by LG Display. So, your final purchase decision shouldn’t come down to display quality (hint: they’re all amazing), but rather the design, features, warranty, and ports of the monitor.

With that all said, this LG UltraGear 34-inch model offers a lot of high-end features for the price. It supports a 240 Hz refresh rate with an ultrawide 3,440 x 1,440 (WQHD) resolution. It also features an HDMI 2.1 port that allows consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X to display compatible games at fast frame rates. In case you’re someone who hears “OLED” and thinks immediately of burn-in, ie. when certain images or patterns become permanently affixed to the pixels, don’t worry so much with this one. LG provides a two-year warranty that protects against it, along with other defects.

It was a turning point in PC gaming when OLED monitors such as these started hitting shelves a couple of years ago. And now that the prices are finally starting to come down on this fantastic tech, it’s great that even more people will be able to witness their games displayed as they were intended to be experienced.
