‘Magnetic Study’ Plusle Timed Research and event guide in Pokémon Go

“Magnetic Study” is an electric-type focused event taking place in the “Max Out” season of Pokémon Go.

Running Oct. 15-17, each day of the event has a unique bonus to take advantage of, as well as Timed Research focused around one of three Pokémon — Magnemite, Plusle, and Minun.

These Pokémon can also be caught throughout the event via Field Research, and all have an increased shiny chance if they are missing from your collection.

‘Magnetic Study’ event schedule and bonuses

Each day of the event will have a new set of bonuses and Timed Research to complete, running from midnight to midnight local time:

• Tuesday, Oct. 15: Plusle Timed Research, 2x catch XP
• Wednesday, Oct. 16: Magnemite Timed Research, 50% increased XP from raids
• Thursday, Oct. 17: Minun Timed Research, 2x catch Stardust

As well as the aforementioned shiny chance boost, Magnetic Lure Modules are also more likely to attract the highlighted Pokémon.

‘Magnetic Study Timed Research: Plusle’ quest steps

Available only on Tuesday, Oct. 15, you can complete the following steps to earn Plusle encounters:

• Catch 5 Pokémon (Plusle encounter)
• Catch 10 Pokémon (Plusle encounter)
• Catch 15 Pokémon (Plusle encounter)
• Catch 20 Pokémon (Plusle encounter)
• Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms (Plusle encounter)
• Spin 10 PokéStops or Gyms (Plusle encounter)
• Spin 15 PokéStops or Gyms (Plusle encounter)
• Spin 20 PokéStops or Gyms (Plusle encounter)
• Evolve a Pokémon (Plusle encounter)

Rewards: Plusle encounter, 2,500 Stardust, 5,000 XP

‘Magnetic Study’ Field Research

The following Field Research tasks are available throughout the “Magnetic Study” event:

• Send 2 Gifts to Friends (Magnemite, Plusle, or Minun encounter)
• Power up Pokémon 3 times (Magnemite, Plusle, or Minun encounter)
• Spin 5 PokéStops of Gyms (Magnemite, Plusle, or Minun encounter)
• Catch 10 Pokémon (Magnemite, Plusle, or Minun encounter)

As with all Field Research, you can keep this in your inventory and complete it once the event ends if you so choose.
