New Nier Tie-In Books Written By Yoko Taro Releasing This Month

Nier fans are in a tough spot at the moment. The Nier Reincarnation mobile game–considered by many to be the third game in the series–is shutting down in April, and while Square Enix says a new console title may happen eventually, it won’t be any time soon. Luckily, there is some new Nier content on the horizon beyond the realm of video games, starting with the new novel Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139…: Project Gestalt Recollections–File 02, releasing on March 19.

Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139…: Project Gestalt Recollections–File 02

Project Gestalt Recollections–File 02 is the second book in the Nier Replicant novelization series co-written by series creator Yoko Taro and Nier scenario writer Jun Eishima. The books retell an expanded version of events from the game Nier Replicant. Preorders for the hardcover edition are discounted to $25.49 (normally $28) at Amazon.

If you need to catch up on the story, the first book in the series, Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139…: Project Gestalt Recollections–File 01, is also on sale at Amazon for just $17.39 (was $28). Yes, these titles are nierly ridiculous.

Yorha: Pearl Harbor Descent Record – A Nier: Automata Story 03

That’s not the only new Nier book on the way. The third volume of the Nier: Automata manga series, Yorha: Pearl Harbor Descent Record – A Nier: Automata Story 03, is also launching alongside the Nier Replicant novel on March 19. The manga series’ “original concept” was created by Taro and books are illustrated by Megumu Soramich. The manga tells new stories that tie into the lore of Nier: Automata. Volume 3 preorders are discounted to $13.49 (normally $15) at Amazon, and the first two volumes are also available for just $10 each.

More Nier books at Amazon

If you’re looking for more Nier reading material, you’re in luck. Yoko Taro has co-authored several other books that fill in his strange, sprawling sci-fi world, some of which are available at Amazon for cheap. Grab a few to add to your collection and hopefully make the wait for the next Nier game a little easier.
