Pokemon Pixel Art Building Kits Are Only $17.49 For Target Circle Week

The budget-friendly Pokemon Retro Sets by Mega Bloks are even more affordable this week. Normally $25, these adorable brick-building kits are discounted to only $17.49 at Target as part of the retailer’s Circle Week sale. This is the first time we’ve seen any form of discount on the pixel art-inspired display models of Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and more Gen 1 Pokemon.

The Pokemon Retro Sets have anywhere from 323 to 434 pieces, so you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck. If you’re a long-time Pokemon fan nostalgic for the days of battling static sprite-monsters on Game Boy, you should definitely check out the Retro series while it’s on sale until October 12. These would also make for great stocking stuffers for fans this holiday.

How to save even more

  • Spend $40, save additional $10 – Add three Pokemon to cart
  • Spend $75, save additional $20 – Add five Pokemon to cart

The $17.49 price is already great, but it’ll drop even lower if you buy three or more. The Pokemon Retro Sets are eligible for Target’s toy promotion that saves you $10 when you spend $40 and $20 when you spend $75 . If you buy three sets, you’ll only pay $14.15 for each. You can get all six Pokemon Retro Sets for only $90.89, which is a massive 40% savings compared to the $150 combined retail price.

Note: You need to sign up for a free Target Circle rewards membership to take advantage of these deals and the retailer’s other offers this week. Target is the only major retailer carrying the Retro Sets at the moment, so you won’t find these deals at Amazon for Prime Big Deal Days. Target is also the only retailer with the Xbox 360 Mega Showcase Building Set, a 1,342-piece brick-building model of Microsoft’s iconic console, which is on sale for $100 (was $150) with Target Circle.

Mega Bloks Pokemon Retro Sets

All of the Pokemon in the Retro Set series are from Generation 1. You can piece sprites of all three original starters from Pokemon Red and Blue for Game Boy: Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander. Series mascot and Pokemon Yellow starter Pikachu is obviously part of the set. The two most recent additions to the lineup, Mew and Eevee, released in August. Each Pokemon comes with a shelf display stand, but you can also mount your pixel art Pokemon to the wall in your game room. Each Pokemon is roughly six inches tall and is officially licensed by The Pokemon Company.

As you can see above, the pixel art designs of Mega’s retro Pokemon figures would probably look great on the shelf next to the new Super Mario World Lego set featuring pixel art depictions of Mario and Yoshi. Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi released October 1 and is in stock at Target, Amazon, and the Lego Store.

While you’re looking at these retro-themed brick-building sets at Target, make sure you check out the retailer’s wider Lego deals. A bunch of Lego sets are on sale for 30% off this week at Target.
