Nintendo is letting you take the stage early in Princess Peach: Showtime, as a new demo is available now on the eShop for the upcoming game. The appetizer features two transformations: Swordfighter Peach and Patisserie Peach.
The former has you slashing down enemies and masterfully jumping over obstacles. Swordfighter Peach is tasked with saving a stage play from the Sour Bunch. Meanwhile, Patisserie Peach sees the heroine becoming a pastry chef to cook up some delicious desserts.
Those are just a sampler of the transformations. In Princess Peach: Showtime, she’ll also sing as a mermaid, ice skate, and steal as a dashing thief. There is also a Detective Peach, where she must search for clues.
GameSpot’s Princess Peach: Showtime preview details the different genres the game explores. Steve Watts notes that while Swordfighter Peach focuses on melee combat, Cowgirl Peach has her lassoing foes while riding a puppet white steed.
The game launches March 22. There is still time to preorder Princess Peach: Showtime, with Best Buy offering an acrylic display stand as a bonus. There are also special Pastel Pink Joy-Con controllers releasing the same day as the Switch exclusive. Princess Peach: Showtime is the first game starring the Mushroom Kingdom royalty since Super Princess Peach released in Japan on Nintendo DS in 2005 (the US release was early 2006).
