Red Dead Redemption’s re-release on PlayStation 5 has added a new frame rate option. PS5 players, who are playing the PS4 version through backwards compatibility, can now play the western at 60fps, and this applies to both the main game and the Undead Nightmare expansion.
The 60fps option has not been added to the Xbox or Switch version of Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemption only had one frame rate option, 30 fps, since the game launched in August for PS4, PS5, and Switch.
Update 1.03 adds this option to PS5, as well as general bug fixes and improvements. The patch also introduces an option to enable subtitles when loading the game for the first time.

Red Dead Redemption’s price point on PlayStation and Switch, $50, has ruffled some feathers, but Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said the price is “commercially accurate.” The game’s Xbox version, which has been available for years through backwards compatibility, costs $30 for the base game and $10 for Undead Nightmare, for comparison.
A physical edition of the Red Dead Redemption + Undead Nightmare bundle launches on October 13.
Rockstar Games is now working on Grand Theft Auto 6, and the game could launch as soon as 2024. The 10th anniversary of GTA 5 recently came and went with no announcement or tease for the next GTA game.
