Snag Nintendo World Championships For Only $25 For A Limited Time

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition recently launched, and right now you can grab it at a discounted price of $25 at Woot. It’s just one of numerous Switch exclusives on sale at the Amazon-owned retailer. One of the other standout deals is the recently released Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

A nostalgic look back at Nintendo’s 8-bit era and the real-world Nintendo World Championships in 1990, this compilation includes over 150 minigames spread across 13 NES titles and normally retails for $30. A lot of these games are focused on speedrunning, like seeing how quickly you can blast through the first level of Super Mario Bros. or how many Octoroks you can defeat within a set time limit in The Legend of Zelda.

It’s worth noting that this special is only for the game, not the $60 Deluxe Set. Something else to take note of with Nintendo Switch games sold through Woot is that they’re marked as region-free, so you might not get a US version of what you buy. This isn’t an issue as one of the major differences you’re seeing is a change in rating logo boxes, but if you are considering purchasing DLC, you could run into a few regional hurdles. For example, if the game you get is a UK version, you’ll need to purchase from the UK eShop to get the DLC. Most of the games listed here–and below–don’t have DLC, so you’re largely in the clear. Amazon Prime members also get free shipping on all orders from Woot.

If you are looking for the Deluxe Set, a few retailers still have it in stock and this version includes some neat physical content like art cards, pins, and a gold-colored NES game pack and stand to commemorate the 1990 World Championships.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Deluxe Edition

This is just one of several Switch games on sale at Woot currently. Some of the highlights here include the previously mentioned Echoes of Wisdom, as well as other recent releases like Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, Princess Peach: Showtime, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong.

There’s also a few other must-play games on special as well, like the imaginative Super Mario Bros. Wonder for $45 or Pokemon games like Pokemon Sword and Shield and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu for $20 less. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is also available for $43, a pretty big discount considering that this fighting game is rarely sold for less than $50.
