Super Mario Bros. Wonder Is Only $44 At Amazon, But Probably Not For Long

One of the best Nintendo Switch games is now available for its lowest price so far at Amazon. Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the charmingly inventive platformer starring everyone’s favorite plumber, is discounted to $44.54 (was $60). Amazon’s current deal is slightly better than the previous best price of $45, which was offered by Walmart during its huge sales event earlier this month.

This deal is shipped and sold by Amazon and is eligible for Prime shipping. If interested, you may want to snag a copy soon, as Amazon’s deals on Switch exclusives tend to sell out or disappear quickly.

The 2D platformer brought Mario back to his roots while also tossing in heaps of new content to explore–including game-altering Wonder effects and the hilarious Elephant power-up.

Our Super Mario Bros. Wonder review gave it a superb 9/10, thanks to its fun multiplayer, inventive stage types, and a large degree of freedom and customization.

“Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a bold choice for a name,” critic Steve Watts wrote. “It plants a flag in the ground that suggests anything less than a constant sense of awe and delight will be a failure by its own terms. But then, surprisingly, Mario Wonder rises to the challenge and the result is a modern classic.”

Multiple other Switch games in the Super Mario franchise are on sale right now, too. Super Mario RPG is available for only $39 at Walmart (the same deal sold out at Amazon), Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Princess Peach: Showtime are $53 each, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is $54. Those last three discounts aren’t huge, but all three of those games released over the past few months.

If you’re reading this, you probably already own a Nintendo Switch, but it’s worth mentioning Walmart still has the Animal Crossing-themed Switch Lite on sale for $159. This retailer-exclusive model is turquoise and features an Animal Crossing-inspired pattern on the back. If you’re interested in adding this limited-edition Switch Lite to your collection or are thinking of gifting a Switch to a loved one, Walmart’s current offer remains the best Switch Lite deal we’ve seen. The console on its own for $159 is a great deal, but this package also includes a digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which still sells for $60.

The Animal Crossing Edition isn’t the only cool Switch Lite to consider buying, though. Zelda fans will want to check out the upcoming Hyrule Edition Switch Lite, which releases alongside The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom on September 26. The Hyrule Edition is a gold console with the Hylian Crest on the back and a Triforce below the right analog stick. It comes bundled with a one-year membership to Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Pack tier and costs $210.

Speaking of Zelda, you can pick up a trio of Switch Zelda games for solid discounts at Walmart.
