As if it weren’t already a massive treat to see each of the Lord of the Rings films (and their extended editions) in luscious 4K, the 9-disc trilogy is just a fraction of what’s inside the One Ring Gift Box that’s coming this December. The box set of films and a replica of the One Ring from Noble Collection are included in book-like case that has a faux leather hardcover, pages with gold foil, and a map of Middle-earth on its inside flap.

The One Ring Gift Box edition will start shipping on Dec. 20, according to its Amazon listing, which is shortly after the Black Friday and Cyber Monday rush — but just in time to have it wrapped and gifted for the winter holidays. This being the most deluxe Lord of the Rings 4K Blu-ray set yet, it’s launching with a premium price of $157.32 and you can pre-order it now. As with other Amazon pre-orders, should the price decrease ahead of its launch — as it does sometimes with pre-orders, inexplicably — you’ll pay the lowest price available between when you pre-ordered and when the product actually ships.

If you’re only in it for the movies and you’re all set with other Lord of the Rings merchandise and memorabilia, we expect to see the 9-disc 4K Blu-ray set selling at a big discount during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Previous deal events have often had the set at just $39.99. You can trust that we’ll be keeping our eyes out for its hopeful return.
