Astro Bot, the second full-fledged title featuring the de facto PlayStation mascot and a very good Nintendo-tier platformer, has arrived. To commemorate the occasion, PlayStation has launched a limited edition DualSense controller fashioned after the blue-eyed bot. The $79.99 controller is technically available now, but you might have a difficult time finding one. Links are currently available at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and PlayStation Direct, but stocks for the new controller are already sold out. Regardless, we’ll keep checking retailers and updating this page if new stocks become available.
The custom controller includes blue accents on the handles and buttons, as well as some additional carved-in sci-fi accents on the grips and around the analog sticks. However, the most obvious change is the addition of a pair of blue eyes seated in the middle of the touchpad. While the eyes, unfortunately, can’t change their expression based on your gameplay, their presence still lends a strangely emotive quality to the otherwise lifeless peripheral.
In addition to its new theme, the limited edition controller includes the same features found on the standard DualSense controller, like motion controls, haptic feedback that can replicate textures in certain environments, and adaptive triggers to simulate tension and resistance.
