A free-to-play game will pay for you to play over the coming weeks. Ubisoft has unveiled that there will be log-in rewards for XDefiant starting September 9 that can ultimately end up in players earning $9 in virtual currency for the FPS. Coincidentally, this takes place right after Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s second beta weekend ends.
On X, the official XDefiant account shared that the game’s celebrating the end of Season 1 with daily log-in giveaways. The gifts will be doled out to players who log in to the FPS, starting with 100 XCoins on September 9. The rewards will then basically flip-flop between weapon and battle-pass boosters back to XCoins until September 24–that day will feature both presents.
It’s time to celebrate Season 1!
🎁Starts on 9/9 at 10 AM PT
🎉Resets daily at 10 AM PT
🎊 Ends on 9/25 at 6 AM PT
Just log-in each day and the reward will be added to your account. Thank you all for joining us this season! pic.twitter.com/Fz44Wlskua— XDefiant (@PlayXDefiant) September 6, 2024
XDefiant executive producer Mark Rubin added on X that “the team and I really want to thank everyone in the community!” Rubin also mentioned that his team has brought on “a bunch of more great talented people,” which is interesting since the game’s developer, Ubisoft San Francisco, just had layoffs last month.
Upon release earlier this year, XDefiant was one of the most-popular games on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. But the free-to-play FPS has failed to crack the top-10-most-played charts for both consoles as of late, while Fortnite and Call of Duty reign supreme. Speaking of which, Black Ops 6 just saw the start of its second open beta weekend.
